Through hands-on workshops, immersive learning experiences, engaging educational materials and interactive activations, our accredited group of educators mentor and instill a growth mindset of creative and innovative thinking in children ages 0–12 and their families.

The Learning Initiative

Outreach events at local schools, include William P. Nixon Elementary — just blocks from the Walt Disney Birthplace, and the school Roy O. Disney attended until 1906. The Walt Disney Magnet School has also hosted onsite discussions with the WDB team and Walt’s granddaughter, Joanna Miller, in addition to annual December 5th Birthday celebrations honoring Walt and Walt Disney Day. These programs continue to grow and expand beyond local schools in the Hermosa and Chicago area.

The Diana Waller Free Hermosa Community Library

In 2019, Greg Waller made a generous donation to sponsor the Walt Disney Birthplace’s free “Little Library” as a community resource for the city of Hermosa.

Named in memory of his late wife, Diana Waller, one of the project’s most generous and enthusiastic supporters, the library has remained full of books and videos ever since; a true fixture of the local neighborhood.
